Gaspard Monge and Jacob Steiner and Their contribution to Mathematics

Hello Friends, Welcome to All Knowledge, I hope you are good and enjoying, reading this article. This article is about Gaspard Monge and Jacob Steiner who was  great mathematicians. So without wasting time let's begin

Gaspard Monge

Monge was a French mathematician born on 14 May 1746 in Beaune, France. He entered Beaune College and began his career there in 1762. After completing his academic work, he developed a plan in relation to his future and revealed his potential. What will be the structure? What types of materials should be used? He also mentioned that. The engineers were impressed by the plans he made and gave him a job as a draftsman in Ecolodi Royal. Although he visited various countries, he returned to Paris in his final period. He died on 28th July 1818. He is called Father of Descriptive Geometry due to his contribution to Descriptive Geometry.

His contributions to the field of mathematics are mentioned under the following points:

• He also started studying a special branch of geometry. Later he studied in the field of analysis as a result of which he succeeded in giving Monges method in Differential Equation.
• He also studied physics, chemistry and technology.
• He also introduced the graphical method in relation to descriptive geometry.
• He deeply studied various aspects of analytical and practical geometry.
• He researched the foundations of descriptive geometry and helped in its development.
• He developed his own way of studying geometry by combining pure geometry, analytical geometry, infinitesimal calculus.
• In 1975 he focused his studies on infinitesimal geometry and developed the theory of developable surfaces based on Eulerian surfaces.
• He studied the field of Descriptive geometry and modern geometry in 1766 - 1775 and composed a text named Gomtrie Descriptive.
• Created Analysis applied to geometry.
• Also worked in areas like Mathematical Analysis, mechanics.

Jacob Steiner

Swiss mathematician Jacob Steiner was born on March 18, 1796 in Switzerland. Steiner, who did not have the opportunity to receive an education at an early age, started school at the age of 18. He started his education from Pestology School despite his parents' wishes. He had demonstrated unique ability in the field of geometry, as a result of which he got the opportunity to study at the University of Heidelberg and the University of Berlin. He studied geometry in 1824. While studying the transfer of geometry, he studied the theory of inversive geometry, but he died on April 1, 1862, before he could publish about it.

His observations on the development of mathematics are mentioned below:
• Received an honorary degree from the University of Königsberg in 1832 mainly due to his contributions to the field of mathematics.
• Worked on the development of geometry while working as head of geometry in Berlin.
• Developed the basics of projective geometry.
• Formally launched projective geometry.
• In projective geometry, Steiner put forward the concept of Roman surface and its characteristics.
• Described Algebraic surface curve and studied its properties.
• Studied about properties of surface.
• Given the solution of isonmorphic problem.
